By now, everyone (and I mean everyone) in internetwebland is aware of the fake hostage photos (aka GI Joe Gate). I laughed so hard the first time I saw the 'captive' photo, tears came out of my eyes.
Out of all the photo-shop fun people have been having, this 'diary of an action figure' is the absolute best. Ok, it's not photoshop, exactly. It's words. Hilarious words:
"I only know my men by their code names, but even in that short space of time we shared a bond that only six-inch plastic combatants can truly understand. They were my family, my brothers in petroleum-based products. One night we all melted the tips of our fingers and became plastic brothers."
OMG that is really funny. It reminds me of another thing I'm totally addicted to -- "Brick Films" -- that is, homemmade stop-motion animations using Legos, usually spoofing a famous film.
Tomorrow at the Berkman Center I'm leading a session on podcasting. At home I made a short film about podcasting, and I was lucky enough to get to use one of these brick films as stock footage.
